Dylan grew up in the Star City district on a small mixed farm starting a lifelong love of growing crops and improving the land. After obtaining a diploma in agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan in 2000, Dylan began to slowly expand his land base with one purchased quarter and a rented quarter from his father.
In 2004, he married Janaya, who grew up on a farm in southwest Saskatchewan, and moved onto a new farm that they purchased with a house and small yard. This was the beginning of what is now the main yard for Starco Ag Ltd. located on SW 28-43-17 W2.
His father David retired from farming in 2008 and gave Dylan the opportunity to rent his land and buy out his remaining equipment. Over the years, it’s been slow and steady growth of renting land and purchasing when the opportunity arises.
